American Thanksgiving in France?

Thanksgiving day is a Canadian and American holiday, and so it does not exist in France. Many Americans abroad during this holiday may experience challenges celebrating this grand holiday. Luckily, we have a gathered a few ways Americans can still participate in Thanksgiving, even if they are thousands of miles away from home!

Buying American food products:
Fortunately, there are places around France where traditional Thanksgiving items are sold.
For starters, turkey should not be too hard to find! The French love it, particularly in Licques in northern France, which is famous for its annual turkey festival held in December. Other stores sell common American items, such as cranberry sauce, Hershey bars, and even Dr. Pepper. Two local Parisian stores that sell these items are "Thanksgiving Store" and "The Real McCoy."
Restaurants and places that serve Thanksgiving dinners:
For those who do not have enough time to go grocery shopping, or prefer to go out to eat, plenty of French restaurants and organizations offer Thanksgiving meals. Here are just a few!
  • Restaurant Verjus (Paris)
  • Harry's New York Bar (Paris)
  • Joe Allen (Paris)
  • Breakfast in America (Paris)
  • Blues Bar-B-Q (Paris)
  • Le Saint Martin's (Paris)
  • The American Club of the Riviera (Nice)
  • Stars 'n Bars (Monaco)
  • The Association Bordeaux-USA (Bordeaux)
  • The American Club of Lyon (Lyon)
